#1 - UPCOMING YOUTH GROUP EVENTS (TAKE NOTE!)

  • SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 - HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS EVENT
    "Worthy" is a one-day event for high school girls. We will talk about our God given value and how it impacts every aspect of our lives. Cost is $10 and lunch is included. Click here to register.
     
  • WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11 - MIDDLE SCHOOL NIGHT OUT
    Pumpkin Painting/Carving at 6p-8p
    Middle School students will have a night of fun activities in THE GYM AT THE CHURCH BUILDING. Each student is to bring a pumpkin as we'll have a fun time painting and carving them. 

#2 - SERVE SNACK SHACK
We are looking for adults to assist with Snack Shack each week. The time commitment is 5:30p-6:30p on a Wednesday night. You can do this once a month, once a quarter, or just once.

We are in the midst of finalizing our dates and locations for Middle School and High School trips. Here is what we know:

  • Middle School Winter Retreat
    January 26-28, 2018
    Location: Snowbound Camp at Frontier Ranch
    Cost: Estimated $175
  • High School Winter Retreat
    February 16-18, 2018
    Location: High Altitude Camp at Crooked Creek
    Cost: Estimated $175
  • Middle School Summer Camp
    Tentative Dates: June 2017 (dates TBD)
    Location: TBD
    Cost: Estimated $500
  • High School Summer Camp
    Tentative Dates: July 16-22, 2018
    Location: New York City
    Cost: Estimated $900

#3 - WE HAVE A BRAND NEW GIRLS DISCIPLESHIP PASTOR! 
Rachelle Robinson has joined our Student Ministry Team as a Girls Discipleship Pastor. We are thrilled! Rachelle has previous experience working with troubled teens and also served on the Student Ministry Staff at First Presbyterian Church in Edmund, OK. Most recently, she was working with teens in Breckenridge and is excited to pursue her passion for student ministry with us at Southeast. She loves Jesus (even more than Diet Coke!) and is excited to join our team.

#3 - NOW INTRODUCING: FIRST STEP FOR STUDENTS
We know it's intimidating to show up to youth group for the first time on a Wednesday night. That's why we're providing First Step for Students on Saturday, September 9 at 6:30 in The Den. Any Middle School or High School student who is new to youth group is invited to attend this casual meeting. Free dinner will be served (Qdoba) and it will be an opportunity for students to learn about our youth group and meet some new peeps. Click here to register for the event.

This is information about tonight's happenings at City Youth Group.
Summer Wednesdays at 6-8.

NEW SCHOOL YEAR PARTY!
6p-8p at The Solomon Center

We are having a party tonight!

  • Free food
  • Inflatables
  • Games
  • Getting pumped for the new school year!

All students grades 6-12 are invited to the New School Year Party.
We'll have fun hanging out together and also share talk a bit about what to expect at City Youth Group this year.

    We resume "school year programming" on Wednesday nights which include separate large group and small group gatherings for middle and high school students. We'll meet from 6-8 all school year long, doors open at 5:45.

Answer: Small group leaders!
We have dozens of people who volunteer their time each week as small group leaders for middle and high school students. These people are GAME CHANGERS!

LOVE WHER WE LIVE PROJECT
Tonight we participate in the Love Where We Live Project event!
Here are the activities:

  • Middle School Students
    Writing letters of encouragement to firefighters, police officers, teachers, doctors, and nurses.
  • High School Students
    Random Acts of Kindness Scavenger Hunt

Note: No Youth Group next week (Aug 9).

We have intentionally reserved this night for a VOLUNTEER ONLY event. This will help us to be prepared as we welcome new volunteers and launch into the 2017-18 school year.

August 16 - noolarty
Definition: [n(ew) + (sch)ool + (p)arty]
This is a good'ol fashioned fun time to bring in the school year! We'll have food trucks, inflatables, 9-square, and hangouts for students. Join us from 6p-8p at The Solomon Center.

August 23 - SMALL GROUPS RETURN
