Hi! I'm Elayna Ballard, a home schooled Junior and I'll be turning 17 while we're in Haiti. I'm very excited to go on my second international missions trip. I went to Panama last June and it was awesome blessing them and learning some important things!
I am very involved in the high school youth group both here at Southeast and Crossroads Community Church. I love music, dancing, drawing, having lots of fun, and getting serious about Jesus Christ and learning more about Him.
I am so excited for another adventure, more opportunities, and developing and growing relationships both with the people in Haiti and my team. And also developing a stronger relationship with The Lord. I've had a rough couple months but God has helped me through it and I've grown and learned a lot! I'm just soo excited to see what God is going to be showing and teaching me in Haiti and I can't wait to meet the little kids, especially the little boy that I am sponsoring!
This team of 22 from Southeast's Next Generation youth will be heading to Haiti March 22-29, 2014 to serve alongside Mission of Hope. The team will be partnering with the village of Source Matelas, and the trip program could include painting houses, a building project, working in the school and sharing the Gospel. The team will also spend time in the orphanage on the mission working with the kids and sharing the Gospel with them.
As an organization following Jesus Christ, Mission of Hope exists to bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child in Haiti. Their desire is to serve the nation of Haiti and to see lives changed. Their passion is to see the hopeless find hope through Jesus Christ, and empower future generations through education to bring their country out of poverty.
Mission of Hope’s primary efforts are focused on church advancement, educational development, orphan care, health care and nutrition.
