Jake Spille is 15 years old and a freshmen at Cherokee Trail High School. He works as a referee for Upward Sports at Southeast Christian Church. He loves Jesus, Hot Cheetos and the Rockies.
Earlier this year in his Social Studies class Jake was assigned to learn about and do a presentation on the people of Haiti. What started as a homework assignment grew into a love for the people of Haiti. Jake is excited to go on his first mission trip and hopes it will be the first of many.
This team of 22 from Southeast's Next Generation youth will be heading to Haiti March 22-29, 2014 to serve alongside Mission of Hope. The team will be partnering with the village of Source Matelas, and the trip program could include painting houses, a building project, working in the school and sharing the Gospel. The team will also spend time in the orphanage on the mission working with the kids and sharing the Gospel with them.
As an organization following Jesus Christ, Mission of Hope exists to bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child in Haiti. Their desire is to serve the nation of Haiti and to see lives changed. Their passion is to see the hopeless find hope through Jesus Christ, and empower future generations through education to bring their country out of poverty.
Mission of Hope’s primary efforts are focused on church advancement, educational development, orphan care, health care and nutrition.
