    First Word February 9, 2014 Introduction: John 3; Matthew 4:21,22; 1:35,36; 3:1-21 The book of John is both the easiest and hardest book of the Bible to read. The author speaks plainly, yet pointedly. As we journey through this study say this simple prayer: God speak to me, because I am listening. Review it: Stuff Phil said: “Our job is to point people to Jesus” “if we do our Job right we will become smaller while he becomes bigger.” “Knowing about God is very different from knowing God.” “There is a gap between knowing and understanding. We move through this gap when we trust God and surrender our lives.” “Jesus says we are going to have a conversation on a spiritual level [speaking about being born again]; Nicodemus answered on a physical level.”    Open It Have you ever had a spiritual conversation with someone? Do you know anyone who is stuck in their faith? What do you think is keeping them from understanding? Explore It In your faith journey what helped you to see Jesus as savior? Was it a long or short journey for you to understand? Get It Do you think that answering all of someone’s questions will lead them to Christ or is faith a matter of believing and trusting? Why?
