Introduction: John 6
The book of John is both the easiest and hardest book of the Bible to read. The author speaks plainly, yet pointedly. As we journey through this study say this simple prayer: God speak to me, because I am listening.
Stuff Phil said:
“If the words of Jesus have not angered you, confused you, or disappointed you, then you are probably not paying close attention.”
“In think that when Jesus does miracles like this, he is saying, to the disciples, ‘watch this!’”
“In one day Jesus creates food out of thin air, walks on water, and defies the space time continuum…not a bad day for a Messiah. “
Do you remember what your first time at church was like?
What caused you to come back?
In reading the Bible, has Jesus ever said anything that shocked you? What was it?
What do you think the reaction was of the people to this section of Scripture: John 6:54-55?
What has caused people to walk away from their faith?
Have you ever been confused about your faith? What was it? How did you work through it?
Would you find it easier to surrender to a God you could fully understand?
What would you say, to Jesus, if he asked you to follow him?
