Introduction: John 11: Lazarus
The book of John is both the easiest and hardest book of the Bible to read. The author speaks plainly, yet pointedly. As we journey through this study say this simple prayer: God speak to me, because I am listening.
Stuff Phil said:
“ What if what we know about life and death isn’t true.”
“We have been taught that death is bad…what if those things we believe about anxiety and fear aren’t what Jesus taught.”
“What if what we know about anxiety and fears keeps us from living the life that Jesus wants.”
“What if the idea that death is bad, life is good is a lie.”
What are you afraid of?
How do you commonly react when you are afraid?
How does your definition of life and death measure up to what Jesus said in John 11:25, 26--Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
Do you believe what Jesus said here? Why?
How should what Jesus said about life and death in this passage inform your Christian life?
How should Jesus’ words here affect your relationships?
If we do live forever, how should will you live today?
