Introduction: John 17
The book of John is both the easiest and hardest book of the Bible to read. The author speaks plainly, yet pointedly. As we journey through this study say this simple prayer: God speak to me, because I am listening.
Stuff Geoff said:
“ Jesus knows that his closest followers are going to face danger.”
“We go to places like Kenya and dig wells…we sneak Bibles into Pakistan.”
“If Jesus wanted unity he picked terrible disciples…Let’s get a crooked accounted, a fanatic, and trader together and have unity”
“Uniformity means we believe exactly the same…Unity means we unify around a central purpose, Christ.”
How are you challenging yourself to follow Jesus?
Have you ever been in a spiritual rut? A rut in life? How did you get out of that rut?
Do you have different views than someone in your group? What should keep you united? How do you keep your eyes on the unifying purpose?
How does your group challenge itself?
When was the last time you invited someone new to your group?
Are there people in your group that should be leading a group? How can you help them step out and unify others in the core of Jesus Christ through community?
How can you challenge your faith this week?
