The book of John is both the easiest and hardest book of the Bible to read. The author speaks plainly, yet pointedly. As we journey through this study say this simple prayer: God speak to me, because I am listening.
Stuff Phil said:
“ When we compare we walk away and we minimize our mistakes.”
“When we are afraid to make mistakes that, that is when the tragedy happens…we miss God’s grace.
“All of the time we spend propping ourselves up keeps us away from the cross.”
“The event is always proportional to the need.”
“He who has been forgiven little knows very little about grace and love. If you have a lot…you have experienced his love and grace.
“[God says,] if you don’t know you’re not ok you can not experience me.”
“Christ didn’t die for those who believe they’re OK. He died for the ungodly.”
“It’s not about you! You’re ungodly.”
Why do we struggle with Grace?
Tell us about a time someone showed you grace.
How does the statement, “Christ didn’t die for those who believe they’re OK. He died for the ungodly,” speak to you?
Why does God choose to show grace? Why should you? Explain.
How far do you believe God would go to show people grace?
Does that comfort or offend you? Why?
Who in your life do you find it hard to show grace?
