Introduction: Romans 12:2
When we look back on a failed relationship. A job we could of have had…how do we make sure that next time isn’t like last time.
Stuff Phil said:
“You can’t blame your way into a different outcome.”
“If you can’t or you won’t own it…you will repeat it!”
“Paul knows a lot about a past that haunts him. A past he wishes he could forget.”
“Whatever it is that you don’t want to repeat in the future…I did it my way. Paul says we will be transformed by the renewing of our minds.”
“Change the way you think and what happens next is different. If you don’t change the way you think things will be the same.”
How does the way we think stop us from changing the way we live?
What are some of the behaviors people rationalize that often lead them to failure?
Have you seen someone seek out information that confirms his or her wrong choice?
What are some ways you can renew your mind?
Who do you have in your life that will give you feedback even if it does not confirm you decision?
Why do you think it is important to have these honest and caring people in your life?
Read Romans 12:2: What are your thoughts on this passage?
What do your think is good and pleasing to God?
Make a list of opportunities you would like to “do over.” Now ask God to transform your view of these experiences.
