Please note, this event is not on Mother's Day. Being a mother is hard work. Take a break and come be spoiled. Speaker Lacy Reeves will inspire and encourage in a message...
HAVEN (Hope, Assistance, Victory, Encouragement, Networking) exists to help single parents get connected to resources that will best guide them towards self-sufficiency and empowerment. HAVEN takes a multi-focused approach on a persons physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational needs and help connect them to necessary programs, relationships, mentors, and services. Partnerships are formed between coordinators, participants, and mentors in order that all may thrive and no parent ever has to feel 'alone' in navigating their needs. The pillars of HAVEN are servitude, community, hope, and accountability.
Here's how it works.
You will be asked to complete an online form. (This form will be available in May.)
Someone will schedule an initial consultation with you.
At this first consultation, you will get a chance to tell your story, describe your current situation, and share your needs. The coordinator you sit with will listen well, ask lots of questions, and do everything she can to honor and support you. She will go over expectations, guide you through goal setting, and will then give you some papers to take home and fill out.
About a week later you will meet with the same coordinator to follow up and get the connections started! She will help you identify and reach out to areas resources to help with your specific needs and goals. You will get also get connected with a mentor at this time.
Your mentor will be your guide and help in achieving your goals, listen well, and support you. You should plan to meet with your mentor at least two times per month for 6 months.
Come be part of this joyous event and learn more about HAVEN. Registration will be up shortly.
Interested in helping with HAVEN or becoming a mentor? We would love to have you and provide all training necessary so you feel confident and supported!!
