The Winter Shelter Network is a network of churches serving the homeless in Douglas County by providing rest, meals and connection during the winter months. The Winter Shelter Network serves women and children who are in need of temporary shelter during the winter months.
Southeast is honored to be a part of the Winter Shelter Network and will be a host site every Sunday night and Monday during the day from November through March. As a host church, we have the privilege of providing a warm dinner, a safe place to sleep, food to pack lunches for the next day and a simple breakfast before they head out for the day. In addition to meals and a place to sleep, we have the opportunity to love like Jesus and create space for connection and relationship.
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? ISAIAH 58:7
WE NEED YOU! In order to provide these services for these deserving women and children, we need over 100 volunteers each month. We encourage families, small groups and individuals to serve with this ministry.
Below is a link to a form listing all of the volunteer opportunities available on Sunday evenings and Monday daytime. To love our guests well, we are looking for consistent volunteers. Please check your calendars and prayerfully consider volunteering once a month, if not more!
Some positions require an interview and background check. If you express an interest in one of those, one of the WSN Coordinators will call you. For all other positions, once you complete the form below, you will get a weekly schedule through CCB with an opportunity sign up for the nights or days you want to serve.
