Community Events

The Local Outreach Department has a variety of opportunities for those looking for a place to serve or find community.

Current Serving Opportunities

Winter Shelter Network: The Winter Shelter Network is a group of churches in Douglas County who are partnering together to help residents who are experiencing homelessness. As part of this effort, Southeast welcomes women and their children to stay overnight every Sunday evening through Monday afternoon. We need a variety of volunteers to help! See the Winter Shelter Network page for more information.
Night to Shine: Southeast is proud to host Night to Shine, a prom for people with special needs sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Over 500 volunteers are needed for this event which takes place on February 9, 2018. See the Night to Shine page for more information.
Friendship Ministry for Refugees: Southeast is partnering with Denver Rescue Mission and Lutheran Family Services to provide friendship teams who will build relationships with families that have resettled in the Denver area. For more information about the refugee ministry, contact Sheri Sutton at
