Part of growing together as disciples means centering our hearts on Christ though consistent praise and worship. Those who serve in the Worship Ministry at Southeast are committed to strengthening their relationship with Jesus through prayer, reading the Word, and actively participating in community. We encourage new people to engage in this vital ministry.
Are you interested in connecting with people who enjoy experiencing God through musical worship? We are always welcoming new members into the choir.
Do you play an instrument? Are you interested in playing with the Southeast Band? We would love the opportunity to meet you and schedule an audition.
Do you have experience with audio and sound engineering? Do you love to be behind the scenes, but involved with worship? We would love to meet you and help you find your pace at Southeast.
Worship - Worship is essential to our ministry; it is the very reason why we gather. Musical worship aligns our focus on our Savior and rids us from the distractions the world has to offer. Without Jesus as the center of our attention, we lack purpose and direction.
Word - The Word of God is the book of Truth on which we base our faith and our lives. We believe that all Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. During each rehearsal we spend time in a small group studying God’s Word together.
Prayer - Prayer is another way we can strengthen and deepen our relationship with Christ. We come together to talk to our Heavenly Father and listen for His response. Through intentional prayer, we become more like Jesus, as this was an essential part of His ministry and life on earth. Prayer is always a priority in our ministry, and we consistently set aside time to connect with God during each rehearsal.
Service - Service is a way for us to put our faith into action. We worship together during the week and we also help lead weekend worship services at Southeast. In choir, our small groups often serve alongside existing organizations as a response to Jesus’ calling us to love our neighbors.
Community - As followers of Christ, we are called to live in community with other believers. Everyone who consistently attends choir is placed into a small group to pray together, read God’s Word, serve the community, and encourage one another throughout the week. Band members also join together weekly to share prayer requests, read the word, and pray together. Once a month the band meets for lunch to fellowship and encourage one other. Any group can sing or play instruments, but we desire to worship Jesus from hearts that reflect an authentic, growing, healthy relationship with Christ and each other.
